Garmin epix Pro (Gen 2) 47 mm battery life—is the right fit?
Garmin epix Pro 2 series offers some of the best battery in the industry (it beats the pants off an Apple Watch).
You want this from a 24/7 premium multisport watch that is getting to know you so it can assist you in every way. That's what a Garmin watch does.
But if you plan to use your Garmin watch as a hardcore training watch, you may want to consider the new fenix 7 Pro series, which offer solar-charging technology and A LOT more battery life than any GPS smartwatch out there.
The battery life on the 47 mm Garmin epix Pro 2 is a bit more than the 42 mm and a bit less than the 51 mm, and looks like this:
Smartwatch: Up to 16 days (6 days always-on)
Battery Saver Watch Mode: Up to 21 days
GPS Only: Up to 42 hrs (30 hrs always-on )
All Satellite Systems: Up to 32 hrs (24 hrs always-on)
All Satellite Systems + Multi-band: Up to 20 hrs (15 hrs always-on)
All Satellite Systems + Music: Up to 10 hrs
Max Battery GPS: Up to 75hrs
Expedition GPS: Up to 14 days

Additional Information on Garmin epix Pro (Gen 2) 47mm Multisport GPS Smartwatch
"No regrets with the Epix 2 Pro. It does everything I need and more. I needed a new golf watch, my S60 was outdated and just didn’t have enough battery life. This Epix is a great golf watch; but it has also gotten me up and going on days that I don’t play golf. I am walking much more and my fitness age is dropping. Also want yo give a shoutout to Play Better. I originally purchased a Fenix 7; but had amoled screen envy. No problem, I was able to return the Fenix and get the Epix. Play Better was very easy to work with."

Love the watch. Tons of
"Love the watch. Tons of functionality. Tried the Fenix 7 pro and could not live with the MIP display. The Amoled on the Epix Pro (Gen 2) is great and I easily get 12 plus days between battery charges (have not pushed it to its limits yet). Unless you are on an extended hard core hike, etc. battery life is more than sufficient. More than enough for my day to day (with occasional workouts) and 2 to 3 day Scouting campouts. Still working on making the most out of the watch."

Love this Epix
"The 47mm is perfect for my wrist, screen is beautiful as advertised. Still learning how to use all the features. Have been on a few runs so far and everything seems to be working fine."

This watch is TOUGH!
"Two weeks ago today, I ran a Half Marathon in FL. After I crossed the finish line, within 5 mins, I fainted and my face took the brunt of it. I was taken by ambulance to the ER. I had concussion symptoms, a displaced orbital on my left eye (will need a titanium plate), swollen eye / face and multiple stitches. In all that, my Epix Pro Gen 2 Sapphire glass did not crack or scratch. The titanium bezel is all scratched up from the asphalt, but the glass remains unblemished. The last two days in the hospital, I was able to keep track of my vitals via the watch. Thank you Garmin for making a product that took the fall better than my face."
— Jimmy T. (5/5)
Best Golf and Multi Use Watch
"Love this watch. Primarily a golfer but wanted a watch with fitness and smartwatch features. This is perfect for that. The battery lasts up to 16 days under normal use so I'm always ready to play golf without having to charge it."
— Todd B. (5/5)
Upgrade worth every penny
"I up graded from the Fenix 5 and knew the up grade would be good but it honestly knocked expections out the park. The display is one that is pleasing to look out day or night. In direct sunlight or in the dark the display is always pleasing to the eye. The watch is packed with all the features one would expect from a garmin watch and more. It sits and feels good on the wrist. One could ware it on a run, at work or a night out and it blends right in. Always responsive in receiving information via text, notification s or downloading. Touch screen is very responsive with no noticeable lag. The wake up wrist movement feature does take a second. The red backlight feature is one of the features that I have found to be very useful while on the job at night. I am actually glad i went with the 47mm instead of the 51mm . The 47mm is a sweet spot for it is not to big or to small for my wrist size. If you are looking for a tuff high quality watch that you can exercise with, work in or wear on a night out the epix pro 2 fits the ticket."

Best watch ever!!
"Great service when ordering from PlayBetter! Highly recommend. The watch is great! Battery life and screen are impressive."
— Jamie (5/5)
The finest sports watch I've ever owned.
"I was torn- which new Garmin? I had the Fenix 5s Sapphire- and wanted an upgrade. The Fenix is great- and the bezel shows wear and tear but the sapphire glass is perfect- survived many a bashing. The big decision- because I don't need many of the features in the top of the line models- the $300 models have everything and more. HOWEVER- the two top ones, The Fenix 7 Pro Sapphire 47 (a size bigger than my last one, but not the biggest) and Epix Pro 2 Sapphire have the great glass (upgrade from Gorilla glass- if you have ever dropped your cellphone, you know what can happen to that glass. . . ) but most importantly have better sensors for heart rate, etc. The other models don't have those. The only difference between these two is the display- and hence battery life. It was a hard decision- but I am now a gym rat, not outdoors, so the Epix won. My battery life- I wear it all the time, day and night- is going to be 7 days, which is plenty. The Epix display is just so much nicer- I have it on red shift during sleep, so when I wake up to check the time, I don't get "blue light" like you get with the Fenix backlight- has already given me more "deep sleep" moments. Worth the small sacrifice in battery charge length. The watch is absolutely superb. I also have an apple, which I keep only because it has the phone built in ($10 a month connection fee), and is a good backup while travelling or great for walks when I don't want to carry a phone. Yes, the apple is a "better" smartwatch- but I have no need for the apps, and the Garmin does all the smartwatch things I want from a watch. I totally recommend it, and totally recommend PlayBetter as the place to buy it. I looked around- and the price and customer service at PlayBetter was first rate."
